Snobby Stories: Morgan Williams
Starting a new series occasionally called Snobby Stories...
This is to focus on all the stories that make the Jeep life so special. If you want to share yours, send us an email or a DM. Everyone seems to have a story about how they ended up having such a passion for Jeeps... Here’s mine.
This was the TJ that started it all. This was the Jeep that I had wanted for my whole life. My uncle has worked at a CDJR dealership most of my life, but I was never in a position to get the Jeep I wanted until he got this one in on a trade. This was exactly what I had always wanted. He let me know it was on the lot on a Tuesday evening, and I was there on Wednesday morning to get it.
This was the most fun I’ve ever had in a vehicle, one of the best purchases I ever made, and it was what helped me decide to start Wrangler Snobs, which has changed my life for the better.
Unfortunately, we ended up meeting a few trees and bushes the hard way one night in the rain on an old Alabama backroad. The tires caught just right in a series of bumps and potholes in a curve, and sent us “off-roading” when we weren’t expecting it. No serious injuries occurred, and thankfully the Jeep stayed upright. I honestly thought that I could’ve driven on out when I was still in a state of shock, and then I realized that I had lost a whole wheel.
The Jeep was totaled, so needless to say, there was a lot more damage than I realized in the moment. I was thankful to not have been hurt and even more thankful that no one else was with me or involved.
I have a soft spot in my heart for TJs, and when the time is right, I’ll definitely own another one. I’m in a JK for the time being because it was my best option at the moment for a fun vehicle that’s also a daily driver. No matter what, a Wrangler is a Wrangler. They are all special, but this one was the one that pushed me over the edge into the Jeep world.
Anyways, I just say all this to give a little bit of a backstory on my life and what brought me into the Jeep community. I didn’t start Wrangler Snobs for quite a while after and had other Jeep friends to help me with ideas, but the thought definitely blossomed while I was in this one.
